Hold A Crown Over Someone’s Head!

CrownI’m starting a blog in order to encourage people to excel.  There is no heavier burden than “potential.”   Why carry all of our potential around with us?

It’s important to turn our gifts into actions that bring meaning to our lives and blessings to the lives of others.  Our strongest ally to make it all happen is God.

My favorite thing to do: “Hold a crown over people’s heads.”  Try to see them as God sees them.  If you hold a crown over someone’s head, that person will often grow into it.  Try noticing the crown that God holds over your head and see what happens!

I look at it like this: “Everyone has something I want.”  I Googled that phrase and all that came up was, “I want something free.”  That’s not what I’m talking about!

I can tell you a quality about anyone I’ve ever met that I would like to have.  Isn’t that incredible that so many people have so many gifts and positive qualities?!

In my blog, I’ll often encourage you to excel and to positively influence others. I’ll encourage you to act on your faith in God, no matter how small your faith.  I want to hold a crown over your head!

So when you click on my blog, get ready to be challenged with noble ideas, to be encouraged, and to grow in faith.

If you want to interact with what I’m saying, please speak up!  This is the kind of fun that will guarantee our mutual growth.  I hope to see you at my “web log!”

I’m starting this activity tonight! I’m going to look at my husband and imagine him with a prince’s crown on his head, just like he’ll be wearing in heaven. And while I’m at it, I will imagine me with my crown on too. I will hold myself in greater regard and then I will gain in more noble character. Thanks Chet!

What you said is so true, Chrissy. I want to write a blog sometime about how it’s important to realize that we carry dignity WITH us. We don’t need anyone to bestow it upon us, although we may need to remind others that they can carry dignity with them, too. I could start a crown company and send crowns to people, but with people who have your imaginative spirit, I don’t need to!

Like you’ve said many times before Chet, God gives us all, wonderful gifts 😀

Yes, and people who have had these near-death experiences, if you give some of them credibility, say that our gifts are a million times bigger in heaven. I hope that’s true!

Chrissy, Let me know how that works out! I think that if you hang in there in holding a crown over someone’s head, this is a fool proof way of helping people feel better, achieve more, be more drawn to Christ, and become more like Him!

Thank you Chet for taking on this challenge! Your first post reminds me of Romans 12:6-8 (ESV)

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

I pray often that our Heavenly Father will stretch me. “To excel and to positively influence others.” Wonderful counsel! I am looking forward to your next topic.

Firstly, I made it! Into this blog…that’s an achievement for me!LOL. Looking forward to this blog.
I don’t try to put a crown on anyone’s head, but when I’m at odds with someone I tell myself, that they too are children of our Heavenly Father and they are loved by him for all,the goodness they He knows is within them…..often it can be the potential… The story of the talents fits well here……althoigh it was money in those days it translate well into what talents are to us.
The first two men dpi led their talents by using them…now that is something to aim for……imagine, if we use the talents we know about…..then they will become enlarged, new ones will come to us…..while the third man hid his talent and lost it…… Isn’t tnat so true for us………if we don’t use a talent it foes, we forget and have to start again to develop it.
Sorry I’ve got carried away…..I just look at a difficult person and want to help them to discover their talents, which will lift them up …. This I do by praising them………there so much goodness in all of us.
    Poem
There is so much bad in the best of us
And so much good in the worse of us
That I’ll behoves any one of us
To find fault with the rest of us.

I think the author was someone Davies.

In addition to the wonderful benefit of growing in love as you esteem others; people rise to your expectations. If you tell your husband he is the most wonderful husband in the world, he soon will be!

    Chet,
When I read your blog, I thought- this really is who Chet is… an encourager. You do this with gentleness, kindness and humility. You are an inspiration and I pray that I can lift a crown to others today. So important to be reminded to try to see others how Christ sees us. Gives me hope. Bless you, Chet. Lisa

This was such a great reminder for me. I’ve been re-reading Abba’s Child by Manning for the fourth time…and have been working on seeing others as “Abba’s children” just as I am. Holding a crown over another’s head is a helpful visual.
Love the blog! I will definitely continue to follow it.
